The U.S. Army engineered the Woodland pattern to maximize concealment at 350 meters as operational theaters moved from the Asian jungles to the European plains during the Cold War. It became the Armed Forces' default pattern starting in 1981 and served for over 20 years until the early to mid 2000s. Twenty years later... we still love it.
