I was born in Phoenix but went to high school in California. I attended Jacksonville State, where I played quarterback and competed for a national championship. While there, I met my wife, Sadie, who was also from Phoenix. After college, we moved back to Arizona. We were married in 2022 and just welcomed our baby girl, Daisy, into the world this spring.
I started working at Marsupial Gear in 2020, where I worked part-time cutting fabric. After about a year, I moved into shipping and inventory, and now I manage our day-to-day production.
I ensure we have inventory on the shelf and prepare for product launches. I have the final say on all quality control aspects, from raw materials to finished products. If you're upset about a product being out of stock, you can get mad at me. With our production near capacity, it can be challenging to determine which products take priority over others.
I started hunting when I was ten with my uncle on a turkey hunt. I killed a turkey every year until I was 18.
I shot my first deer in 2020.
I enjoy the camaraderie, the campfire memories, and the adrenaline rush of having an animal in your sights.
My 2023 Arizona OTC Coues deer was a great moment for me because I felt like I was able to do a lot of things on my own and grow as a hunter. Also, it just so happened to be over a 100-inch Coues deer.
I would love to shoot a mature bull elk in Arizona with my bow. I think elk hunting is cool because it’s a very interactive hunt, similar to turkey hunting. The feeling you get when a turkey calls back to your call is indescribable, and it’s even better when a bull elk responds. Plus, I have an open space above my TV where an elk mount would fit nicely.
I have a small Field Tan Enclosed Pack with a Coyote Brown Range Finder Pouch on the right, a Cell Phone Pouch on the left, and a Bottom Mount Holster underneath.
I occasionally swap out the Cell Phone Pouch with a small Zippered Pouch.
My favorite piece of gear is our Handwarmer Muff. I have always hated losing dexterity from wearing gloves.
The Handwarmer Muff allows me to keep my hands warm without needing to wear gloves. I wear it around my waist on most hunts.
We designed it for fishing—but the Multi Pack is well suited for many activities. Use it to hunt turkeys, find sheds, ride single track, or as a camera bag to capture the perfect image. Like all our chest packs, it keeps your essentials secure and within easy reach, yet perfectly out of the way.
